Sri Lanka, an independent country since 1948 after 150 years of British rule, oozes diversity.
Geographically, Sri Lanka, considered one of the most scenic countries in the world, is blessed with gorgeous golden sandy beaches, mountains, bush-clad ranges, lush tea-growing hillsides, and mysterious, enticing lagoons.
The people hail from three major religions: Buddhist, Islam, and Hindu, and the variety of food reflects this diversity. Fiery curries are the typical ” go-to,” but choices also include tropical fruits, vegetables, and snacks, such as a coconut roti or a cone of spicy fried chickpeas.
The glorious scenery, friendly people, taste-filled spicy foods, interesting religious sights, and amazing wildlife – think elephants, monkeys, and other exotic creatures – make Sri Lanka an enticing travel choice.
